Who is she?!

It’s Kimi, b*tch.

I’m a freelance composer, board member/social media manager for AAPI in Gaming, and community manager at a Fortune 500 gaming company. I studied video game music composition under Jason Graves (Dead Space, Until Dawn, Still Wakes the Deep) and volunteer for Amir Satvat’s Games Community as a resume/portfolio reviewer!

My compositions are love letters to my fave video game, anime, film, and musical theater composers, including (but not limited to) Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Masashi Hamauzu, Masayoshi Soken, Shoji Meguro, Yoko Kanno, Joe Hisaishi, Alan Menken, Hans Zimmer, and Jason Robert Brown.

While I play all types of games, my go-to’s are Japanese role-playing games (JRPGs) like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Pokémon, and Persona because of the storytelling, character development, and sweeping soundtracks.

Fun fact: I’ve performed on and off the piano in Chicago comedy venues such as The Second City, iO Theater, and The Annoyance as a music director for musical improv shows (a la Laura Hall from “Whose Line is it Anyway?”) and sketch shows, as well as a comedy singer and sketch writer/performer.

I’m into (almost) all types of music, including pop, electronic dance music, jazz, Bossa nova, R&B, hip-hop, rap, emo, pop-punk, musical theater… sorry, no modern country! There’s a good chance you’ll find me moshing in the pit or crowd surfing at a live show in Chicago.

Thank you in advance for checking out the vibes! (◠‿◠✿)
