Who is she?!

It’s Kimi, b*tch.

Kimi (aka kimikimi_MORE, like the Britney Spears song) is a freelance composer and music director in Chicago, IL. Her compositions are love letters to her favorite video game, anime, film, and musical theater composers, including Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Masashi Hamauzu, Masayoshi Soken, Shoji Meguro, Yoko Kanno, Taku Iwasaki, Joe Hisaishi, Alan Menken, Hans Zimmer, and Jason Robert Brown.

While Kimi loves all types of video games, she gravitates towards Japanese role-playing games (JRPGs) such as Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Pokémon, and Persona because of the storytelling, character development, and sweeping soundtracks. Kimi has performed on and off the piano in comedy venues such as The Second City, iO Theater, and The Annoyance as a music director for musical improv shows (a la Laura Hall from “Whose Line is it Anyway?”) and sketch shows, as well as a comedy singer and sketch writer/performer. She loves (almost) all types of music, including pop, electronic dance music, jazz, Bossa nova, R&B, hip-hop, rap, emo, pop-punk, musical theater… sorry, no country!

Thank you in advance for checking out the vibes! (◠‿◠✿)
